Demo & Rebuilds

Built Right. Built Once. Built to Outlast the House.

Some chimneys are beyond patching. Spalled brick top-to-bottom, failed flue, listing structure, settling foundation — at some point, rebuilding from a known good level is more cost-effective than chasing repairs.

We do partial rebuilds (roofline up — the most common project), full rebuilds, and full structural rebuilds with new footings when needed. Every rebuild includes new flue, crown, cap, and flashing — done as one cohesive system, not bolted-on parts.

  • Above-roofline rebuilds — the most common scope
  • Full chimney rebuilds from the firebox or footing up
  • Complete system replacement — flue, crown, cap, flashing
  • Brick & material matching for clean integration with your home

When to Rebuild

Signs Your Chimney Needs Rebuilding

Spalling all over the chimney

When brick damage is widespread (not just isolated patches), patching won't hold. Rebuild for a real fix.

Chimney leaning or pulling away

Structural movement means the foundation or core is compromised. Needs evaluation and likely rebuild.

Multiple failed repairs

If you've had repeated tuckpointing and the brick keeps failing, the underlying issue won't be solved by another patch.

Cracked or collapsing flue

A compromised flue is dangerous and often signals broader structural issues. Full inspection and possibly rebuild needed.

Water damage throughout

When water has migrated through the entire structure, rebuilding above the damaged section is often the cleanest solution.

Inspection failure on home sale

A failed chimney inspection during a sale often requires major repair or rebuild. We work fast on real estate timelines.

Frequently Asked

Questions Our Customers Ask About Demo & Rebuild

How much does a chimney rebuild cost?+
Above-roofline rebuilds typically range from a few thousand to ten thousand depending on chimney size and material. Full rebuilds cost more. We provide written quotes after a site visit so you know exactly what you're committing to.
How long does a rebuild take?+
Above-roofline rebuilds are typically 3-7 days. Full rebuilds can run 1-3 weeks depending on scope and weather.
Will my homeowner's insurance cover this?+
Sometimes — especially if the damage came from a covered event (storm, fire, falling tree). We help document with photos and reports to support your claim.
Can I just remove the chimney instead?+
Yes — we also do chimney removals. Sometimes that's the right call if the fireplace isn't used. Ask us and we'll lay out both options honestly.
